Aretha Gets The Cash Up Front

Liner Notes:

Well, we don't call her the 'Queen of Soul' for nothing! This shirt is a nod to all the hard working artists and musicians who are about their tour life business.
One thing that had often been documented and observed since the 1960s was how the lady with the greatest voice in the world, Aretha Franklin, would get her cash up front from concert promoters before she would step foot on stage. Miss Franklin was also known for keeping her "bag-a-loot" on stage with her during her performances. Can you say R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

"On the counter in front of her, next to her makeup mirror and hairbrush, were small stacks of hundred-dollar bills. She collects on the spot or she does not sing. The cash goes into her handbag and the handbag either stays with her security team or goes out onstage and resides, within eye shot, on the piano. “It’s the era she grew up in—she saw so many people, like Ray Charles and B. B. King, get ripped off.”
