Native New Yorker - Giant 45 Collection
"Native New Yorker" tee is inspired by the 1977 disco classic by disco/soul collective Odyssey. in 1977 "Native New Yorker" quickly became a New York anthem, a radio hit and a dance floor classic.
We're also paying homage to the 12-inch single record or Giant 45. The Giant 45 came into popularity with the advent of disco music in the 1970s and used as promotional 12-inches. By 1975 the new format was being sold to the general public and included longer, extended, or remixed versions of the original single. These versions were frequently labeled "12-inch version", "12-inch mix", "extended remix", "dance mix", "club mix", "special disco version", "disco 12" single" or "extended disco mix".
Music Fun Fact: The tenor saxophone solo on "Native New Yorker" is played by Grammy Award winning jazz saxophonist Michael Brecker.
